The Operators Handbook, was designed and developed by the Institution of Railway Operators (IRO) who plays a key part in the knowledge needed to support railway operators to be the best they can be, with a great learning and development offer delivered through the Professional Operators Development (POD) framework. This Operators’ Handbook uses that framework as its structure so that the learning in each chapter can be furthered through the courses tun by the Institution of Railway Operators from introduction to master’s level.
The IRO intends this book to be useful to all levels of railway operator from new starters through to experienced operators, from those not in supervisor or managerial positions to those running railway operation businesses.
